ATTENTION:
Lake County Trial Court Phase Three of Reopening

Lake County Trial Court is now in Phase Three guidlines of the Michigan Supreme Court. What that means to the public. The Court is now opened with certain restriction put in place. Public needs to plan on longer wait times for hearings, individuals are to self-monitor assess, social distancing and wear a mask. Masks and social distancing will continue to be required until such time that public health officials make an announcement that COVID-19 has been suppressed within the United States. 

Social distancing within the courtroom required, the number of people allowed in the courtroom will based on social distancing of six feet apart. 

The Lake County Trial Court has put every safety measure in place to keep staff and public safe.

Lake County Building Department

Go to www.lakecounty-michigan.com. Here you will find Building, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical permit applications that can be printed out and faxed to (231)745-7214 or mailed to 800 10th Street Suite 110, Baldwin, Michigan 49304. Or if you can scan in or take a photo of the application, both sides, and send to, bldgdept@co.lake.mi.us. Permits can be paid over the phone with credit cards or debit. The staff will be in the office each day and can be reached at (231) 745-2722 to assist you. Inspections will not be affected in any way at this time. Please call to make an appointment for the inspection that you may require. Although Building Permits can be faxed, scanned or mailed, significant documents such as Blue Prints will have to be mailed.

Lake County Prosecutor’s Office

(231)745-2775 or by fax at (231)745-6224. Will be staffed at all times.

Lake County Treasurer’s Office

The Treasurer’s Office will be taking in payments by Credit Cards and directing people how to pay as they call in, also collecting the heads of department monies as usual, mail and banking will be the same. TO PAY DELINQUENT TAXES USING A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD:
