The Lake County Sheriff’s Administration office is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm except for Holidays. 

If the office is closed and you would like to leave a message for a Deputy you can access their voice mail extensions by calling the Sheriff’s Administration office at 231-745-2712 and an automated attendant will respond to your call and gives directions.

Reports

Reports are typically available within five to ten business days from when they are taken. Please call during regular business hours for availability.

Accident reports are available and can be purchased from the Administrative office for a $10 dollar fee.

Incident reports can be obtained at our office or through a FOIA (freedom of information act) process, depending on the type of report. Incident reports are available through the administrative office for a $10 dollar fee and those reports handled through the FOIA request vary in cost depending on the number and type of reports requested and the length of time it takes to process the request. All FIOA requests are forwarded and processed through the County Administration office 231-745-2725.

• Criminal Sexual Conduct
• Warrant Information

Gun Business

License to purchase permits are issued at no charge
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
You will need to bring a current Michigan ID or driver’s license
Notary fee is $5

CCW/CPL Permits

• Safety classes must be taken first
• All CCW/CPL information, applications, and renewals are processed at the Lake County Clerk’s office 231-745-2725
